 This picture is handstitched from a piece of

 Vintage French linen. By patchworking the fabric,

 I was able to save the pretty embroidered flowers.

Then I embroidered the message

 'Mum fills the hours with sunshine and flowers,'

and two  smiling suns. I added some vintage buttons

 including mother of pearl and the whole collage

is appliqued to a brown homespun check fabric.
