Another chance to try 'Freeform'

~ creative knitting and crochet..

..if you can knit and /or crochet and

you would like to use these skills 

in a more inspirational way,

then come along to this workshop

- you will discover how to make 'scumbles'

 in all kinds of yarns

which you can then put together

to make a hat or a bag

Course costs £45 including

homemade farmhouse lunch,

 all day tea and coffee,

 finishing with homemade cake

 at the end of the day.

You will need to bring knitting needles,

 crochet hooks and sewing needles

(but these will also be on sale on the day)

and there is a charge of £10 for materials

-there will be a huge variety of yarns

for you to choose from

 in all kinds of textures and colours

Mystery Blanket Evenings

I am currently running

 'Mystery Blanket Evenings'

 here at Mr Darcey's Cottage in Byfield

 Every other Thursday from 7.00 -10.00

Each week I introduce the group

to 6 new stitches (including lace patterns,

cables and all over textured stitches),

 which they knit up in beautiful UK Alpaca DK -

 eveyone works at their own pace, so we have

 complete beginners, taking their time

and more experienced knitters,

 who are racing along -

but they will all end up with an amazing,

 heirloom sampler blanket to treasure for always!

 Cost is £10 per session and includes:

 a free pair of Brittany Birch needles

on your first visit and

 one ball of yarn at every session

plus lots of wine, tea, coffee and biscuits!

Ros decided to go for a smaller project

and used her squares to make

 this super sampler cushion!!

Sock knitting for the Terrified!

 A course for anyone who always wanted

 to have a go at sock knitting -

 the course is over 2 evenings

 (Wednesday April 14th - Getting Started 

 Wednesday April 21st  -Turning the heel )

 at Maple House ,

 Collingtree Road,

 Cost is £25 and includes tuition and refreshments

 and knitting kit, with everything you need

to make your first pair of snazzy socks!

We are just in the process of organising more

 knitting courses, at the brand new Arts centre

 'Cool Contours', here in Northamptonshire,

where we also hold our weekly knitting sessions.

 

After attending the Freeform course,

 earlier this year, Sandy has become

 totally hooked on 'freeforming '!

She has completed the bag she started

at the course

  and she is well

on the way to completing a second bag!

We are hoping to run

this course again, later this year,

 as well as sock knitting, learning to knit

and using a peg loom.

 The centre offers a wide range of

 other arts and crafts courses, from painting,

pottery and rural crafts through

 trug-making to creative writing.

The courses are run as 1 day workshops

from 10am - 4pm including morning coffee/tea,

excellent lunch (all home made by Heather)

and homemade cake for tea, at the end of the day.

 On-site accommodation is available for people

 coming from out of the area.
